OCASI made submissions to Ontario's Task Force on Women and the Economy for its consultation on women’s participation in the economy and Ontario’s workforce.

OCASI made submissions to the Ontario Workforce Recovery Advisory Committee (OWRAC). The Committee was established by the Ontario government to provide recommendations to shape the future of work in our province.
The OCASI submission puts forward an Action Plan to end the labour force underutilization of immigrant talent in Ontario.

OCASI held a Town Hall for member agencies on the new temporary pathway to permanent residency on May 18, 2021.

May 5, 2021 / Toronto - COVID infection rates are on the rise, particularly the more infectious variants. Study after study has shown that women and the working poor – particularly racialized and im/migrant workers are disproportionately impacted. OCASI calls on the government of Ontario to give workers at least two week of permanent, paid sick days.

On April 14, 2021 Minister of Immigration Marco Mendicino announced a temporary public policy that would provide new pathways to permanent residency for essential workers and international graduates.
OCASI has asked Ontario to provide a written directive that confirms COVID-19 vaccines will be proivded to everyone in Ontario regardless of immigration status.

Toronto / August 19, 2020 - Migrants, refugees, undocumented people, workers and students are taking to the streets on August 23rd to call for full and permanent immigration status for all.
Parliament may be prorogued but migrants are still in crisis.
Actions in ten cities and five provinces are calling for the expansion of the newly announced pathway to permanent residency for some refugees in healthcare to include everyone in the country without permanent resident status.
