Toronto / September 26, 2023 - OCASI – Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants stands in unequivocal support of trans rights and 2SLGBTQI+ communities.

Everyone has the right to live authentically and express their feelings freely, without fear or prejudice. Anti-trans hate has no place anywhere.

We are deeply troubled by the recent rise in anti-trans hate speech and actions across Canada, the rise in misinformation and myths, and recent anti-trans protests.

OCASI stands against all forms of discrimination, hate and intolerance and is committed to advancing equity, human rights and social justice.

We call on all leaders in communities, religious and faith groups, governments and political parties, and in all sectors to speak out strongly against anti-trans hate, in support of 2SLGBTQI+ communities, and combat misinformation and myths whenever and wherever they are present.

Let’s all come together to fight hate, intolerance, discrimination and prejudice with life-affirming action because there is #NoSpaceForHate and #FactsOverFear.
