Refugee Rights Day is commemorated on April 4 every year in Canada to bring attention to the advances made in the protection of refugee rights in Canada as a result of the Supreme Court Singh decision in 1985. Join us this year to commemorate the 28th anniversary of the 'Singh Decision'.

  • The OCASI submission for Ontario Pre-Budget Consultations 2013 is focused on challenges in the year ahead, facing immigrants and refugees, and the immigrant and refugee-serving sector in Ontario.
  • The federal budget 2013 released on Thursday March 21 is a mixed bag for Immigration, Citizenship, Settlement and Integration. The budget includes funding to expedite the Temporary Resident Program ($42m over two years) and the Citizenship program ($44m over two years). There is little detail about how funds will be expended in these two programs, a consistent theme about the budget.
