In 1978 the Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants came into existence. Through the work of both committed individuals and organizations, OCASI was established to act as a collective voice for the many community based groups who were serving and supporting immigrants throughout the province.
Since its incorporation OCASI has proven itself a leader on issues of public policy and research tackling issues in housing, education, language, and employment, advocating for the full participation of immigrants and refugees in Canadian society. The Council has grown from 20 members in 1978 to more than 190 across the province, with leading professional development and member services attracting more and more members each year.
To mark the occasion of OCASI's 30th Anniversary numerous activities have been planned throughout the year which will help us to document our past and cast out a vision for our future. We hope that you will join us as we mark this milestone, celebrating our achievements and renewing the vitality which has brought us so very far.
